How Acrylic Is Fabricated: From Design to Delivery

Acrylic starts as a flat sheet and becomes a custom display, sign or product through a series of precise steps. Here is how the process works from idea to finished piece in hand.

Step 1: Design and quotation

You send a sketch, dimensions, photo or just an idea. Our team translates it into clean vector cut-files and confirms material, finish, branding and timeline. This takes 24–48 hours and comes with a firm quote and prototype timeline.

Step 2: Material selection and cut-list

We choose the right acrylic grade (cast vs extruded, clear vs colour, 2–50mm thickness) and nest your parts efficiently on a sheet to minimise waste. Nesting well can save 15–20% on material cost. Sheet arrives in the workshop.

Step 3: Laser or CNC cutting

Your design is cut on laser (for glossy edges and fine detail up to 25mm) or CNC router (for thick acrylic, square edges, pockets). Laser cuts take minutes to hours depending on complexity. CNC routing takes longer for intricate work. All pieces are cut to tolerances of ±0.1mm.

Step 4: Edge finishing

Laser-cut edges are already glossy; we check for flame-polish quality. CNC-routed edges are sanded and optionally diamond-polished to optically clear finish. This hand step is where premium work shows and time is invested.

Step 5: Bending or bonding (if needed)

Pieces that need a curve go into the thermoforming oven; pieces that need to fold go under the line-bender. Bonded joints are solvent-cemented and clamped until the bond sets. Complex shapes might need jigs or custom fixtures built in the workshop.

Step 6: Branding

UV printing, laser engraving or vinyl stickers are applied. UV printing is direct-to-acrylic in full colour or white ink; laser engraving is frosted white on dark or clear sheet; vinyl is fast but short-life in humid climates. Each method is applied and cured.

Step 7: Quality check and packing

Every piece is inspected for scratches, dimensional accuracy and finish quality. Pieces are wrapped, boxed or palletised depending on the size and quantity. Small pieces are shipped tracked; large pieces go by logistics partner.

Step 8: Delivery and installation (if needed)

Same-working-day courier to Dubai, overnight to Abu Dhabi and Sharjah, 1–2 days to outer emirates. Installation on-site is available in Dubai and Abu Dhabi for an additional service fee.

The verdict

The process from 'yes, let's make it' to 'here is the finished piece' is typically 48 hours for a prototype or 3–7 days for a production run, with every step done in-house under one roof for consistency and speed.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the entire acrylic fabrication process take?

Prototype: 48 hours. Production run of 10–100 units: 3–7 days. Delivery across UAE: 1–2 additional days. Rush 2–3 days for +50% cost.

Why do you keep everything in-house instead of outsourcing cutting?

Keeping design, cutting, finishing, branding and packing in-house ensures every piece meets our standard from start to finish. No handoffs, no delays, no quality surprises.

Can you install acrylic pieces on-site for me?

Yes, in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Installation cost depends on location and complexity. Mention this when you request a quote.
