A display stand holds a product up so a customer can see it clearly. The right stand makes a product look more valuable. The wrong one makes it look forgotten. This guide explains the main types of acrylic display stands, what each one is good for, and what to think about before you order.

A riser is a flat or stepped platform that lifts a product above the counter surface. Simple risers are just a block or a hollow box of clear acrylic. Tiered risers stack different heights so you can display several products at once without one blocking another. Cosmetics counters, phone accessory displays and jewellery cases all use risers. The key spec is height: too low and the product disappears behind counter clutter; too high and it looks unstable.
An acrylic easel stand holds a picture frame, a sign, a certificate or a flat product upright at a slight angle. They are small, inexpensive and come in many sizes. Easel stands are the default choice for table-top menus, price cards, welcome signs and framed prints. They are easy to reposition and easy to swap in and out for seasonal promotions.
These are vertical or angled pockets that hold A4 or A5 leaflets upright on a counter or a wall. Single-pocket holders suit one product or one message. Multi-pocket holders let you display a full range of literature in one unit. The most important thing to check is the pocket depth — too shallow and the leaflets fall out; too deep and only the top edge is visible.
A rotating stand turns a single footprint into a display visible from all four directions. They are popular for jewellery, sunglasses, keychains and small packaged goods in retail environments. Acrylic rotating stands are usually clear so the product is the only thing a customer sees. The base needs to be stable and the rotation smooth — a wobbly spin stand is a liability in a busy shop.
When counter space is limited, wall-mounted acrylic shelves move the display off the surface and onto the wall. Floating acrylic shelves look clean because the fixings are hidden and the clear acrylic seems to disappear behind the product. They work well in beauty salons, boutiques and clinic waiting areas. Weight capacity matters here — thick cast acrylic holds far more than thin extruded sheet.
Sometimes a standard stand does not suit the product. A perfume bottle needs a shaped cradle, a trophy needs a plinth with a specific angle, a tech device needs a stand that exposes the charging port. Custom-cut acrylic stands can be made to any shape, dimension or angle. They cost more than standard stands but the result looks purpose-built, which it is.
Choose a riser for products that sit flat, an easel for cards and frames, a brochure holder for leaflets, a rotating stand for small packaged goods, and a wall shelf when counter space is tight. When the product is unusual, a custom stand is worth the extra cost because it makes the product look exactly as intended.

Most counter stands use 3mm to 6mm clear cast acrylic. Heavier products or larger stands need 8mm to 10mm. Anything thinner than 3mm flexes under weight and looks flimsy.
Yes. UV printing puts a full-colour logo directly on the acrylic surface. Laser engraving cuts a frosted logo into the surface with no ink. Both finishes are permanent and professional.
A well-made cast acrylic stand lasts many years under normal retail use. Clean with mild soap and a soft cloth. Avoid ammonia-based sprays, which cloud the surface.
